[Everything] I think I just understood something in the Finale...

In this story a LONG history exists of great Targaryen Kings, great with people, great with the military, but shitty at politics. Yet, their Queen knew how to play the political game and would influence people to follow what the King wanted and influence the King to make the correct decisions. In this story, GRRM places Jon into an arc where he learns to command, to lead, to deal with people, with heavy influences from Jeor and Stannis (a Lord Commander and a King both shitty at politics). GRRM places Sansa into an arc that surrounds her with Southern politics, backstabbing, deal making with heavy influences from Cersei and Littlefinger (both good at politics).

I wonder if the end rested under our noses the entire time. GRRM strengthened Jon with Sansa's weaknesses and strengthened Sansa with Jon's weaknesses. The idea of a Jon/Sansa marriage prior to season 6 made me laugh. Today, I wonder. I remain queasy with the idea of an awkward and strange marriage that these two who grew up as siblings would have. But difficult to deny what GRRM (and the show) have set up with these two characters. A callback to the greatest Targaryen Kings whom lacked a mind for politics, yet survived due to their savy political Queen and wife.
