[Spoilers] Going on three years since the finale, is the hate for Season 8 still prevalent or has it mellowed somewhat?

It wasn’t just Season 8, it started with Season 5 and what the show did with Dorne and then in Seasons 6 and Season 7, instead of the clever plotting of the books it became, “this guy kill this guy, plot move forward!” It went from War of The Roses style political intrigue and alliances and betrayal with characters like Tyrion Lannister Roose Bolton and Tywin Lannister to over-the-top, one-dimensional villains like Ramsey Bolton and Euron Greyjoy. There were enjoyable episodes and parts of the show in Seasons 5-7, but it became clear that D&D wouldn’t be able to handle plot lines on their own past what Martin had written and increasingly things started to feel rushed. Season 8 was just the icing on the cake, but I had a feeling by Season 7, that they might not have the best plans to wrap up the show.
