No fucking thanks. When we leave decision making to "the community", we run into too many well-intentioned, but ultimately ignorant ideas.

Think about your local community board. For instance, my local library's community board has recently had postings for public information sessions on the things like the value of homeopathy, and the health dangers of wifi, and the health dangers of wind turbines, for example.

Give me an expert assembly. A non-ideologically homogenous group of subject matter experts would do more good than a gathering of people with questionable relevant knowledge.
