Fantasy books inspired by East/Middle East/Ottoman cultures and etc.

As a general rule rather than specific recs - if you want non European settings, read books by non European authors (or authors who don't have European heritage)

If you want middle eastern, read people who either live in the ME or have that heritage and culture (I don't know many here tbf, but Tahir shah is one I can name, but I've not read anything by him). If you want Indian cultures, read authors like Roshani Chokshi (american with Indian heritage), Indra Das or Ashok Banker (indians living in India). Repeat for elsewhere in the world.

Obviously not everything they write is necessarily about their own cultures, but it's way more likely than picking up a book by a random white European to be something different ime
