The FBI Says It Can't Find Hackers to Hire Because They All Smoke Pot

When I was working for a tech company in San Francisco, we were approached by management about submitting (voluntarily) to an additional background check to be part of the team that handled data the Feds wanted to store on our servers. They pitched it like some kind of spooky-but-good career opportunity. The government insisted on this because they were apparently concerned active terrorists who had infiltrated the booming SF tech sector might steal/use the information to harm good ol' Uncle Sam.

We reluctantly agreed to go along with it (for a while) and one of the first questions on the form was "Have you ever used an illegal drug, specifically marijuana? If yes, please list the specific dates in the box below." Many of us quite literally laughed out loud. "Dude, I'm hight now!" some joked. "They want specific dates?! I might need to calculate this in Excel."

The vast majority of us never filled them out beyond the first page and I think the Feds eventually built their own shit like they probably should have in the first place.

But yeah, they have a bug up their ass about pot for some reason.
