Fed can't tame inflation without 'significantly' more hikes that will cause a recession, paper says

Shareholder capitalism is honestly insane. The only goal is to increase, not sustain, profits in perpetuity. With even a basic understanding of economics anyone could realize that’s not possible. American corporations will do whatever is necessary to hit their quarterly goals with no regard for any long term effects all in the name of giving their investors profit. It’s not sustainable and has us on the fast track to a world that is a burning hell

That’s also a reason why libertarians/conservatives are ridiculous for advocating so much deregulation. Corporations are beholden to no one except their shareholders. Any damage they cause to the environment or general population is insignificant because nature and anyone not in the top 12% or so of economic status have no shareholdings
