$FLES on the verge of launching new auto-parts only marketplace.

I commented that it is ticking boxes for me, but wanted to follow up now I've looked closer. I have some concerns, pretty petty ones, but they are enough to turn me personally off.

1. Fake Clout

Their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/liftkits4less/ has a massive 338,473 likes, but it's bots and fake accounts. And it's on a steep decline, losing a few hundred followers each week.

The very few mentions of the company are people either promoting the stock ticker or complaining about the shit customer service.

Having such shit customer service while about to pivot into something bigger is a bad omen. Having your only fans be stock pumpers is a bad omen too.

2. CEO Focused on Stock Market

I keep seeing a pattern in CEOs who tweet with their stock ticker not being focused on the right thing. Maybe I'm a curmudgeon and just not a fan of the "working out loud" mantra, but I think the dude should worry about his company and customers, not pumping for investors.

3. High Prices and No Benefit

Looking at the vendors they have lined up on autoparts4less.com, and the items they currently sell on liftkits4less.com, I can't see a benefit for the customer. Items are priced the same or cheaper elsewhere, and it isn't like autoparts4less.com is going to be dispatching the items themselves: You are still paying separate shipping charges to separate companies.

All the vendors have their own nice websites already, and, especially for aftermarket car parts hobbyists, finding and comparing parts from different manufacturers is half the fun. I don't know who would want a one-stop-shop with limited selection and high prices.

Like I said, petty concerns. Nothing to do with financials. Still, enough to spook me.
