Fox News Has a Hard Time Processing the Las Vegas Shooting: The Daily Show

Obviously the whole video is very liberally leaning, but I did have one issue with this part:

"I was trained in the use of a firearm by my parents that had connections to law enforcement."

"What does that mean? The world doesn't work like that. Like if someone's sick on a plane, no one screams 'Does anyone have a cousin who's watched Grey's anatomy? Anyone?"

What do you mean the world doesn't work like that?

People learn a skill, perhaps improve aspects of it, and pass on what they have learned to others.

That's exactly how teaching works - that's exactly what every teacher (yes, those who teach in the military/law enforcement too) operates.

I just wanted to point out how ridiculous it was to try to attack him for that - by suggesting that his teacher "wasn't good enough" because it was a parent or something... firearms aren't rocket science either.

It's not like he was saying he had been taught complex military maneuvers - his parents probably said "don't point that at anyone and keep your finger off the trigger until you're ready to shoot" - congratulations - you have basically learned how to be safe with guns.
