Gave my whole paycheck to the animal hospital to save his guy. Worth it.

Yesterday was actually the anniversary of the day I found my Kit!

My brother, sis-in-law and I got home late that night and heard meowing. My SIL and I are both big animal lovers, so we followed the meows across the busy street to a drainage ditch right across from the house. She was on top of it, laying in a little patch of grass. She was super skinny and had a sore on her bottom lip.

We took her inside and gave her some food, their bunny's old cage so she could make a bed, and let her have the spare bedroom, which was empty except for the cage and an old twin bed. I ended up sleeping in the room with her that night. I'm not sure why, I just wanted to make sure she'd be okay.

We kind of tried to find a new home for her with half-assed posts on Facebook and Craigslist to see if anyone was missing her. But being so tiny and with her sore, it was pretty clear nobody was. So I adopted her. Took her to the vet and they said she was probably about 12 weeks at that time, so we estimated her birthday was St. Patrick's Day. So that's her birthday now!

And now, she's a sweet, snuggly, spoiled little thing. You're awesome people!
