German Nazi General Ernst Fisk was carrying orders to Murnau concentration camp to immediately kill all of the prisoners because of the speed of the allied advances. However, US soldiers had already liberated the camp... and when Fisk arrived, he and his driver were killed.

Rommel killed French African soldiers because they represented Allied powers. Everyone who has read historical documents and peer reviewed papers knows that he was never a NAZI party member, they know he was an effective and honorable fighter, and he allowed the fighting to stop to share medical supplies with the British and to allow both sides to bury their dead. He was well respected as fair by the Allied Generals.

The Wehrmarcht killed anyone and everyone under orders. The common soldier followed orders or was executed.

The Luftwaffe was under Goering, a hardcore NAZI party member and part of Hitler's inner circle. A terrible person. They selected out members from the Luftwaffe who wanted to join the NAZI party and in large part, those fanatics were the ones in the camps. It wasn't like Hogan's Heros were they pulled in a lot of regular soldiers. They were party members who wanted to do that job.

The holocaust was evil. It was committed by evil people. But a lot of good people were pulled along into the current and forced to work under the same regime. Not every German was a NAZI, just like not every soldier committed war crimes.

All NAZIs need to die and the party needs to be permanently eliminated, but don't assume everyone was a member or believed what they did, because they didn't.
