Germany to buy up to 35 Lockheed F-35 fighter jets

I mean not really, if an F35 is up, awacs is up and will be the C&C not some single F35 pilot. Using an F35 to launch or recover drones isn’t a good use of its platform.

As I said, I was simplifying. Killchains are complex, and I didn't want to get into them.

Using an F35 to launch or recover drones isn’t a good use of its platform.

The drones aren't launched by the f35's frame--they are launched from airfields. Every f35 launch is a joint-operation of large scale--something I also wanted to avoid getting into.

It’s just a really good multi role fighter, that can, in a pinch do some coordination but that’s not its main mission.

Here we disagree. The f35 is the central component of a joint operational killchain.

It has advanced networking to give the pilot a clear picture of the battle space and how fits in, it’s not meant to on the fly make missions or taskings and shouldn’t be used that way.

This is what it's designed to do. The entire point of the networking capability is to give the pilot, who has the best eye on the situation, to manage the joint operational resources.
