I made a 1.7k thingy on why I would absolutely fucking love GTA V. I don't give 2 shits that it took me about 12hrs or that it's randomly chosen. I want this fucking game
Introduction
Hi everybody, my name is Jared and I love playing video games. My favourites being Payday 2, Borderlands 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Osu!, Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition and Grand Theft Auto V.
I used to own Grand Theft Auto V for my Xbox 360, but I have sold the game so I was able to upgrade my computer. It wasn’t a very easy thing to do at the time, but it had to be done. Ever since then, I have been anxiously waiting for Grand Theft Auto V to get released for PC. Watching Vanoss play it, watching it get released on the Xboner and the PS4, Gameplay reveals on the PC, getting released on the PC, all the gameplays on the PC. It’s nice to watch, but it’s always better to be able to play it.
Characters
If you are unaware, Grand Theft Auto V has 3 playable characters – Michael, Trevor and Franklin. Michael is a husband and father, trying to forget his past life in crime; by doing more crime. Trevor is a crazy fucking psycho. That is all I can say about him. Franklin is your average “Gangsta!”. He lives in the ghetto part of Los Santos, does drug raids with his “gangsta” friends, etc.
If you were to ask me to pick a favourite from the game, I would have to say Michael is my favourite. The reason for that choice is not only that he has probably the best backstory in a game, but I find him relatable to my dad. I don’t really want to get into that, but all I can say is the resemblance is uncanny.
My least favourite out of the 3 is going to be Franklin. Don’t get me wrong, I love the missions that he is in and all that, but I don’t really like the way that he is scripted. It just feels off in Grand Theft Auto V – which is really odd for some reason.
Scenery
In Grand Theft Auto V, there is quite a lot of scenery in the game to take in with the graphics cranked all the way up to max settings. In the metro area of Los Santos, or even the desert in Blaine County – it is all beautiful no matter what you think of it. It can really get to you how beautiful some games can get if you crank the settings up to the max if you are able to. With all the 4k ultra graphics screenshots and gameplay that has been released; I am safe to say that it is one hell of a beautiful game that it is.
I have also recently acquired a brand new GTX 750 so I am able to play some newer titles ;).
Weapons
The weapons in Grand Theft Auto V are purely amazing. From the Baseball Bat, to the RPG – there is just about every killing machine in this game. There are Melee weapons, SMG’s, Assault Rifles, Sniper Rifles, Heavy Weapons, Shotguns, Grenades, and a hell of a lot more. That’s only the beginning. With all the attachments in the game and new weapons being added in with every new update that comes out – there will be no loss in weapons.
My favourite weapon in the game would have to be the Special Carbine. It is a close second to the RPG. I have only used the RPG in story mode, but holy hell was it fun. When you hear the words “Destruction and fire”, you would hopefully think of an RPG. The reason why I chose the Special Carbine, is because it was the first weapon I had. Oh, also because I bought the hot pink camo. That camo is amazing.
Story
The main story in Grand Theft Auto V surrounds the 3 main characters, Michael, Trevor and Franklin. Without any spoilers: The three of them do crime, get into some deep shit, and somehow solve it. Somehow because I don’t want to spoil the game.
The main reason why I love the Grand Theft Auto V campaign is because of the originality. The way how the story works and surrounds the 3 characters, it just works. I have no clue how Rockstar made it work, but hats off to them making it work. In all honesty, it must take a lot of time to make it work.
If you were to ask me what my favourite thing about the campaign, I would easily say the heists. The Paleto Bay one to be accurate. I absolutely loved everything about that heist. I think what absolutely made it my favourite is how badass it makes you feel. Just imagine wearing a juggernaut suit, with bags of cash, whilst shooting a minigun at cops. Just thinking about it makes me feel awesome.
The Heists
As I said in the statement above, I really fucking love the heists as they are my favourite part of the game for me. They just make me feel badass. That is about it.
As said above, the Paleto Bay heist is my favourite one. If you were unable to read it up there, I will put it here in quotes so you don’t miss it. ” I absolutely loved everything about that heist. My least favourite would have to be Blitz Play (Security truck). I did not like that heist. It was just boring to me. I found it all to be a bit too cliché to be honest. Although I love the killing parts of the heist, the rest kind of just throws it all away. I wanted to like all the heists, but that one ruined the streak. GG.
Vehicles
And holy shit I am excited to do this part. I remember watching the trailer and seeing that you were able to customize your vehicle. I kid you not, I nearly squealed in excitement. I had been waiting for that to be in Grand Theft Auto for such a long time, it isn’t even funny.
When I was finally able to customize vehicles in the campaign, I bet I probably wasted so much money on it. The customization is endless I say, endless!!!! There is rims, tints, spoilers (Snape kills Dumbledore), colours, horns, and so much fucking more, it is amazing.
Now on to the vehicles. If you ever played Grand Theft Auto IV, you would know that the driving in that game was absolutely horrible. The car didn’t handle well, they weren’t very fast, they didn’t look cool, etc. Well in Grand Theft Auto V, that was all fixed. The handling is so much better in V, it’s scary to even think to go and try drive in IV. Most of the cars in V look pretty fucking cool. Most. I said most. Oh, and also most of the cars go pretty fast in V now. Once again, Most.
And now for the good part of the essay, GTA online
Grand Theft Auto V Online
Holy shit, I honestly have no clue where to start with GTA Online. I’ll find something.
So I upfront want to say that I have absolutely no friends that I want to play with. After with what happened with a used to be friend, I will be playing online by myself. That is no problem to me as I play all my games alone anyways, so yeah.
My favourite thing about online would have to be the racing. I remember when I went to the shops to get GTA V for my old 360 and I was telling the register lady how excited I was to finally be able to play it and race my friends. And yes, did I race. And yes, I was pretty shit at it, but I had fun. That is all that matters at the end of the day.
I quite like all the missions that you are able to do. It adds a story to it a bit, but not very. It’s just sort of there. I don’t usually do the missions, other than the occasional Rooftop Rumble grind. That fucking mission before it got patched was the absolute shit. It was grind after grind after grind. I remember I was playing with my 2 closest friends at the time, and we grinded that mission for about 3 hours. I’m not going to lie, it was the most fun I had in a long time.
But to me, the cars are where it’s at. I love going into random lobbies and just driving around. It really relaxes me. I remember I was having a really bad day at school. I was pissed at everyone, so I said that my stomach was hurting so I could go home. I went home, told parents everything and they let me play my Xbox (when I come home from school early I’m not allowed on any games/computers). I went on GTA, got in my fav car, and just drove. I drove around the map for about 3 hours and it relaxed me so much. GTA’s driving is my cool down.
It’s not only the driving, it’s the music that goes along with the driving. Put on Los Santos Rock Radio and drive through the city would entertain me for so fucking long it wouldn’t be funny. If I were to pick a favourite music track from the game, it would have to be either Hollywood Nights – Bob Seger or Radio Gaga – Queen. They are both really fucking amazing songs and you should totally give them a listen.
And finally onto the death matches. I don’t usually like death matches on games like GTA as it pretty much has aim bot and is 99% bullshit all the fucking time. But, when I do end up enjoying myself I have a good fucking time. I really love the feeling that you just pissed someone off by killing them. Or at least I think I pissed them off. Oh well.
