Businesses care more about the consumer than the other way around... The customer is always right is a pretty popular motto. The loot boxes are/were a thing because the demand is/was there. As more people boycott them they will have to submit in order to compete with people meeting the demands of the consumer. But if people continue to buy into it, and its profitable, they are going to get paid, it is a business. These companies need people buying their games more than we need to buy their games. They depend on it. I suggest leave bad reviews and refuse to purchase from the companies you feel are fucking you. I'll continue to play Civ6 and not worry about the all that bs and wait till the steam sale.
