Google spied on employees and fired them for unionizing, U.S. labor board says

When my mom worked at a big-name company, she took vacation time for health reasons and was sent a letter before her vacation time was up telling her to come back. They sent the letter to the wrong house and proceeded to fire her despite the fact she brought proof it was mailed to the wrong address.

Luckily, our neighbors next door gave her the letter and she presented them evidence but they still fired her. The only reason she got her job back was because the union fought for her, but she was going through a divorce as well supporting children as a single mother. They preyed on her because she was vulnerable and because they could. The only person who stood up for her was the union.

Now there’s a gag order on the case as part of the settlement. She can’t even talk about it.

This is what corporate America does to people. Google’s no different than anyone else.

Then, that big name company fired her and she had to spend three years in arbitration and settled for less than she deserved. A union made it possible to get her job back
