Tammy Nichols won her election. Last year, she was championing a bill to put gender-affirming counselors and doctors in prison for life, and the bill had the votes to pass by every headcount, it was just stifled by backroom negotiations by the Senate President Pro Tempore who thought that might be a smidge too extreme.

The end of Idaho's legislative session was fraught, as education funding was held hostage unless the trans bill and another bill (to criminalize working in a school or library with sex ed or lgbt-friendly material) were allowed votes in Senate committee.

The compromise was that subcommittees were formed to advocate for both bills in the 2023 term. I have a couple hundred bucks riding on both those bills passing in some form by March, which might give a little consolation.
