I had to.

Thank you for your comment!!

I always went through "phases" of vegetarianism as a kid but when I lived at home, our parents essentially told us we could eat whatever they prepared for dinner - which made varying diets tough.

I was pescatarian for a couple of years (though still only ate seafood maybe twice monthly for the last year or so of that). I then moved to ovo-lacto-vegetarian and have been that for about a year now. I've never been big on cheese but will eat it on pizza or a taco occasionally (if I fail to omit it). But I've always hated milk so the lacto part of my diet has always been... lacking. :P

I only purchase eggs from local farmers markets or Vital Farms which is a company based out of Austin, TX who sells eggs from pasture-raised chickens on small family farms. I go through a dozen a month at best.

With that said, I follow a vegan diet most days peppered with the vegetarian exceptions mentioned above so I follow this for news and recipes. I do like to think I'll someday get to 100% vegan but I'm still happy with my choices so far and I like to think my choices are positively impacting the animal community in this world.
