Healthcare: Sanders vs Paul

Yes, you're born into this situation and cannot choose whether or not to take advantage of those but the reality is that there's no other way to do it and still actually provide those services.

In many cases there absolutely is. Do you agree with everything the government spends taxpayer money on? Do you think there is not a single government service that could be replaced with a private, voluntary service?

Living in a country that provides those services is tacit acceptance of them.

So then you don't mind using this logic in other areas as well then right? Working for minimum wage is a tacit acceptance of that company's policies because you are using their infrastructure and equipment to work there. Just because that's the way things are, doesn't mean we can't work to try to change them.

Roads, EPA, FDA, and the military and police that stop the country from being controlled by roving warlords like Somalia as a few examples.

I mean this is such an extreme example as to be pretty much pointless. Somalia was a worn torn poor country that was led by an authoritarian socialist dictator who shredded the country through his policies.

When he was ousted, and Somalia effectively had no government, they actually saw an increase in quality of life and services. A brutal socialist dictator destroyed the country, and the state of the country improved without a government and without taxes. Plus, you really can't compare the two countries as the situations are/were so radically different. A more apt example would be the early united states before the 20th century. There was no income tax whatsoever, and the country was funded mostly through tariffs. You did not have roving warlords in America in the 1800's.

If you don't like what the money is being spent on then lobby your representative to change that. Simply not paying taxes though, or claiming that they're "theft", is really just not reasonable or viable.

Ever since I was 18 years old I have done everything in my power to get the government to stop their imperialist foreign policy and their pension for war and occupation. Little good it has done me. I've also railed against the drug war for the same amount of time and nothing has changed.

Like I said, I have no problem saying some of what the government does is justified, I just have no issue calling it theft. Because by the very definition, it is.
