Hello r/arabs ! :D I just joined reddit

The future looks grim, as always. We cannot defend our borders, land, and resources. Our corrupt, treacherous elite are wholly reliant on foreign aid for survival and therefore bow to the whims of their patrons. We face a myriad of social problems including corruption, income inequality, sectarianism, and tribalism/feudalism. The Arab world continues to suffer from brain drain, Arab education and research in general is abysmal. The gulf states aren't doing enough to transition to post-oil economies, and the rest of the Arab world is doing even worse financially. Our three immediate neighbors, Turkey, Iran, and Israel are still far more powerful than us and pose a great threat to our sovereignty. Some of the Gulf states have been exposed for normalizing relations with Israel, which really shouldn't be a surprise to anyone at point. We are not prepared for climate change, which is really bad given the geography of our region.

So yeah, things don't look very good unfortunately. Welcome to the sub.
