Help! Need a decent laptop fast! Problem is, I'm dirt poor, so would likely need to rent one. Details in post.

Mac is industry standard now? LULZ

Okay, maybe not "industry standard", but are the most used. Pretty hard to argue against that.

You would be absolutely fine with a $100 pawnshop special. Just throw your SSD in it and it will feel like brand new. I sometimes code on my freaking phone ffs.

Wow, good for you buddy. You are so l33t LULZ. Seriously, could you be any more pretentious?

Don't worry about image. That's the least of your concerns right now.

It is, and I even admitted it's only a small part of why I would prefer to RENT one (reason behind my emphasis in a moment).

Oh, and with a little help from TPB, you can put Mac OS on anything, if they require it.

Oh cause we all know that hackintoshes work so well... especially on older equipement /s Let's not forget the fact that I'm starting in 5 days, and by the time I'm actually able to get a laptop, it'll be likely less than 3 days. Yeah, I'm totally going to spend the three days before the program starts trying to get a hackintosh working on legacy hardware, instead of getting prepared for the next 8 weeks... seriously this suggestion is incredibly delusional.

But seriously, it sounds like you're just fishing for a free macbook.

Yeah okay, I knew this was going to happen, which is why I put the bold text at the bottom of my op. I have been stating over and over that I'm looking for a place to RENT a macbook on the cheap, or a cheap place to get a reasonable laptop as an alternative. You honestly think I would for a second believe I could get a free Macbook from some random person on reddit? Seriously?! You must think I'm fucking retarded. I would really like to know how you came to tha conclusion, especially after I've made it clear I can scrounge up enough money to get something decent from Free Geek, and again, have been looking at RENTAL places for a mac. So yeah Sherlock, please tell me how you came to this conclusion. I can almost guarantee it'll be as absurd as your post.

It's honestly people like that are the reason we can't have nice things. It's one thing to be cynical, but this is just so goddamned out-to-lunch that I'm almost speechless. Again, I beg you to show me where I've given cause to believe I'm looking for a handout. As if my clear language wasn't clear enough.
