Hmm...

I’ll say this. Growing up in America I️ didn’t like soccer, you got made fun of for liking it and definitely for playing it. There were two things about soccer I️ knew. England loved it. And a team, Manchester United. Now I️ couldn’t stand it and I️ had never watched a match but I️ hated both the sport football and that team. For no good reason I’ll admit, kids wearing stupid red shirt with the word “aon” some company id never heard of would irritate the hell out of me.

But after 2006 and 2010 world cups I️ fell in love with this beautiful game. Party because zidane broke the “wimpy” sport cliche, then in 2010 USA had an exciting run which made me appreciate the flow of the game and the edge of your seat, 90 min+, non stop action.

So after the fun run ended and I️ realized I️ wouldn’t have this in my life for another 4 years I️ decided I️ needed to find a team. It was easy to pick the premier league because I could watch it on tv. Next was finding that team. 2010 World Cup coverage talked a lot about the Ivory Coast and yaya toure, I️ also enjoyed watching him. So I️ googled him and found out his team was Manchester City. Well if there’s one thing I️ know about sports is two teams in the same city 11 times out of 10 they are rivals and that made my decision for me, finding Utds rivals.

I’m a city fan partially because I️ hated utd before I️ even knew anything about anything. Hope that makes sense.
