Housing L.A. - Having issues with my apt and tried to cancel my lease. Company wouldn't let me. What can I do?

There's a roach infestation in the apartment that I live in. It's actually in all the apartments, but I'm the only one who has been really vocal about it. When I signed the lease, I signed an addendum that said there were no roaches and bedbugs.

Management already fumigated two times and gave me an electronic device to get rid of the roaches. Nothing has worked. It got to the point this past April 1st that I tried to cancel my lease because of the infestation. I took all the evidence that I have been documenting. Pictures of roaches, the roach bait and spray I've bought out of pocket and actual dead roaches in a container.

At first, the woman who did my lease was helpful and even tried to have me placed at another property, but after talking to her supervisors she became combative and condescending. I explained to her that my unit is plagued with roaches and because I've been so vocal, I've been experiencing retaliation from one of the property landlords. I believe she's targeting me solely because of this. She's rude to me, she rolls her eyes at me and is overall unprofessional.

Unfortunately, they wouldn't let me cancel my lease. The woman said that because they have been "working really hard" to take care of this issue, that I can't leave. And if I were to leave, I would be breaking my lease and incurring all the penalties. If I break the lease, management requires that I find another tenant for them, who qualifies and agrees to a new one-year lease. I don't think that's fair, especially because of the roach situation.

I turned in my rent to my landlord this past April 2nd and she didn't want to take it. She said I had to drop it off at the office, something no one here does. We went back and forth about the rent and other issues. She told me that there's several complaints against me for being loud. She said everyone around me has complained because of "noise" and because I come home at 1am or 2am. This is not true at all. I don't come home at that time. I didn't bother addressing the complaints because they're not true.

So as a result of the April 1st meeting, they sent someone to fumigate this past Friday. And so far it hasn't work. I'm still seeing roaches everywhere, and I feel that it has made it worse. I know that I'm suppose to give it 2 weeks until I see results, but there's still roaches.

I need help. Coming home has become a nightmare. The on-site landlords already have it against me and I feel like they're trying to intimidate me and drive me to break my lease. I just want to cancel my lease because I was lied to about the roaches.
