How can I express my views without getting shot down by SJWs?

There isn't a comment here I wouldn't upvote. So I don't have much to add except this memory. When I was a freshman at community college, I took a class called Argumentation and Debate. The final was a 20-minute speech on something you believed in and researched. The professor liked me because she knew the trouble I'd had with a no-show debate partner, and I discussed my final topic of and she felt I did an excellent job.

After I finished and a Q&A began, a girl I was somewhat acquainted with just attacked me vehemently. She disputed everything I had said. Of course she had no facts, just feels, but then again she also hadn't spent the last weeks researching. Now, years later, I recalled that for some reason.

Why had she reacted so strongly? Did the other students agree with her or me?My professor said I had handled it fairly well. Of course it bothered me then but now I just wonder how people can hear the same facts and react so differently.

It's somthing that puzzles me to this day, re gamergate, re politics, and just about every polarizing issue. Most of the people I revere have virulent detractors who think they are the devil. I've heard the research about how people who hear information that conflicts with their worldview usually double down instead of change their mind. It's strange and it's frustrating but apparently it's a part of human nature because there doesn't seem to be any sphere of life that isn't polarized somehow.

So, expect resistence, expect hate even, and you can either ignore and delete it, be open to it and consider it analytically, or mock it. Which you choose depends on your personality, and I'm guessing by your question that you'd rather ignore it. And SJWs don't typically provide much to analyze beyond insults.
