How ethical is it to keep a pet?

I brought up the issue of Carnivora because your example was outlandishly wrong. That's the only reason. Now you know the facts, and that argument will be used correctly in the future.

Next, there is no vegan bible or manuscript detailing the philosophy. There are a few people who have written books. That's all. To assume the vegan philosophy you quoted is a universal statement is invalid. There are many different vegans. Some do it for the environment. Some do it for their own health. And some do it for animals. Some do it for all three reasons. Basically, lol, it's hilarious to dictate to others what veganism is because each and every one of us defines the movement. So stop preaching. This is not a religion with 10 commandments.

Finally, there will never, ever be a world in which nobody consumes any animal based products. There will never ever be a world in which animals are not a part of our economy, in whatever form. As long as we have an industry, then my dogs and cats will eat meat. If we manage to abolish the entire meat and dairy trade, then I'll reconsider.

As much as you think this makes me a bad vegan, it really doesn't matter. You are no messiah and your opinions are only as valid as mine :P

But like I said, j get what you're saying. I am making a different choice to you, based on the facts, evidence and experiences I have seen
