How do you guys handle lousy service/your own stories?

I've only made a fuss once or twice, and it's always been at the same wing joint. At first, I loved the place, the food was great, service was decent. Then we go one day when the place is totally empty. The amount of time it took to meet our server, order our drinks (water), get said water, and place our order was obscene. I think we were there for at least 20 minutes before we ordered our food.

Then, for some reason, a different server brings out two more glasses of water. We hadn't even gotten through our first ones and even if we needed more, they usually just refill your glass...

I think the food was decent but then it took another 15+ minutes to get our bill. We were still one of maybe two occupied tables in this giant dining area so it was kind of pathetic. This was one of the rare instances when I didn't leave a tip.

The next time we got food there, we placed an online order for pickup. Again, the place is dead when we walk in to get our food. But alas, our food is not ready because they hadn't bothered to check for online orders in over half an hour. Our order was still sitting there unconfirmed... They "rush" our order - which also runs late - and we head home; up until this point, my husband and I were patient, neither of us made a complaint. But when we dig in at home, the wings are barely warm (WTF?) and they forgot to give us any dipping sauces even though we paid extra for them.

I complained that time. I was pissed. The whole ordeal took over an hour and I get back with half cold chicken wings and no bleu cheese?! -_-

As an apology, they sent us coupons but those took over a month to arrive, not sure what was up with that. When we try to redeem them during our next visit, the cashier gives us shit. She keeps trying to tell us that we can only use one or some such BS. We asked to see the manager which is still the only time we've ever made such a request. The man hears our abbreviated tale, the cashier starts nagging again, and he just totally cuts her off. As it turns out, he was the manager who sent us the coupons in the first place so he already knew that we were told we could use them as we were saying. He rung us out himself, apologized again, and made it quite clear that he was sick of cleaning up after his incompetent staff.

I don't think we've been back since and that must have been a year ago. They literally got three strikes. lol
