Around a billion muslims are extremist, according to the good old pew research center.

Leaving that number and its meaning aside, nothing about that justifies calling ISIS "Islamic."

If you want to walk into this argument, it quickly becomes apparent that no politicians should get credit for anything outside of social policies, since the rest is decided by global economy.

You're swinging between extremes. Politicians get credit for the policies they enact and the impact of those policies. They also get to "ride the wave" of popular sentiment as larger economic forces play out; that's part of being on top. However, we should never mistake that for someone's wise governance.

Putin gets credit for continuing economic growth, but Russia's turnaround was already in the making when he entered office. Peopel in Russia may like him much more than the 90s (I would), but that doesn't mean he's not a tyrant.

Human rights are a silly thing made up in the 60s.
