How do I improve my personal relationships?

Thanks for your comment. You're right, things do go both ways, that's the thing though. I've invited friends to do things and they've cancelled and usually that's fine! Often the worst case scenario is I have extra snacks from our cancelled visit. I've cancelled on friends before as well but I try to be considerate about it, not doing it at the last minute, etc. I would never tell a friend to get tickets to something and meet me in a different city then cancel on them last minute or last-minute change the time of our meet-up when they're already in the car on their way. To me, that's unacceptable. If I've had them commit time and money to an event then it's my responsibility to be there.

I really subscribe to that "treat others as you wish to be treated" philosophy. I guess it's not the cancelled plans that hurts, it's the lack of consideration. Makes me wonder if it's something I'm doing that people don't feel like they need to be considerate, if I'm being to flexible for others. I don't know.
