Only two types of people wish America was more like Japan: weebs and neo-Nazi’s.

Japan’s economic and social systems structure is very similar to US with some added guardrails (I.e. Japan has the same essentially healthcare system as the US but enforces price caps on treatments). They have a lot of the same problems like poor people who can’t afford medical treatment, and children who become malnourished over breaks because they rely on school lunches.

Japan’s work culture is abysmal even when compared to the low standards found throughout the US. Socially it’s very repressive towards women, LGBT and their many minority groups.
