Racists roam the halls of CPAC, and the conservative conference ends in controversy over racist comments

I believe there is something in our brains that is somewhat binary, though this is greatly simplifying it, but basically if it’s 1 then you have a sense of empathy toward humanity as a whole and care about yourself, your family, but also care about other people, human progress, future generations, etc. If it’s a 0 then you only care about yourself and your own family/friends. You don’t really feel a sense of empathy toward people you don’t know, you don’t care about future generations, etc - your mentality basically boils down to “fuck you, got mine”.

It is this “bit” that ultimately drives your core beliefs and behaviors, and if it’s a 1s tend to be democrats and 0s tend to be republicans. This is why so many republicans don’t give two shits about issues like DACA, they simply don’t feel empathy toward people who grew up in the USA and don’t know if any other culture so the thought of them being separated from their families and forced to live in a completely different culture from the one they know, they don’t ‘humanize’ the situation because “it doesn’t affect me”.
