Also, quick note. 50-60 JE's if they are separate processes and each require a separate workpaper (and aren't like oh we do this entry once for each department or this part of XYZ is reversing and this isn't) is probably too much for one person.

I would say depending on the timing of your month end and the timing of these entries as well as the size of the task really you should only have 10-20 tasks for each month end short of being a bookkeeper or like in AP (no offense to my bookkeepers/AP clerks out there, it's still plenty difficult work).

Do not grind your career in to dust for these people. They fire you they get someone new in a couple months, but you effectively lose the time you spent with them from your career and trust me it will put you a bit back. It's manageable but hard to explain and avoidable if you can avoid the self-blame trap and can look at it realistically.
