Sure, why the hell not.
It all started sometime near the end of February.
Met her at work. She had problems with some software I had to support. We got to talking. She drops some really nerdy tech talking shit on me, she's really nervous, grinning a lot as well. I figure "Hmm, I wonder if she likes me."
We get to chatting over the LAN messenger. I swing by her office a lot and chit chat when it's rather slow. She told me on one occasion "No, dont' go..." when I had to get back to my post because I do have to support some of our field techs on occasion.
So there was a local comic con coming up. I had no intention on going since no one wanted to go with me. She brought it up and asked if I'd be interested in coming with her. She was already planning on going with her room mate and I said "Sure, why not?"
The day of the convention, I message her saying "I'll be there around 11:00 or so. Just wanna miss the crowd and I still need to swing by the ATM." she replied back saying "Ok, I'm going to be doing speed dating with my roommate".
I figure ok, no big deal. Nothing is concrete, sounds like rejection to me but I figure fuck it. I already paid for the ticket I'm going.
I get there, get my band, I message her saying I got in, and she never texts back. I figure "No big deal. It's loud, she didn't hear her phone. Surely I'll find her."
Well, I find her. I poke her lightly with my umbrella. Her response was a bit delayed, and she turned around and saw it was me.
To shorten the story, we were walking together for about 10 minute or so from booth to booth, she said to one of the booth attendants "I don't date" then I'm thinking:
"What the hell is this then? Why did you say you were going to speed dating? Why did you say you don't date, then you sign up for speed dating at the booth? None of this shit makes sense."
So at this point, I check the time on my phone and say "I think [ name retracted for privacy ] is going to be here."
Her response being, "Yeah, I'm getting a head ache and we're gonna get something to eat. I'll text you once we're done."
At this point, the "date" is over.
She never texted me back.
