I wouldn't whale on this game, and nor would pretty much any whale, if there were no one playing it. There is no reason to play a game that no one plays; no reason to whale to generate content on youtube if no one's going to view it, no reason to whale to create guides with different unit variations if no one's going to read them, etc.
Free to play users are as much the life blood of the game as whales are, even if they don't strictly support it with their money.
You don't understand how the free to play business works; thankfully Gumi is learning, in spite of people like you, that making your overall playerbase happy results in more money.
Pay how? With " 20 NRG and 1000 Gil?" Yeah, ok. With how easy it is to earn Gil, that earns Gumi no money whatsoever. Even if the NRG cost was doubled and the Gil cost was increased tenfold it wouldn't change that Gumi is earning no money from it all. Besides, if you really want pots that bad just do pot expeditions.

You make shitty points because you miss the bigger picture. You can't even grasp the value of free to play users; you put too much weight on whales for absolutely no reason because you never think beyond "they spend the most money".
Yeah, sometimes people like me drop a few hundred on a few banners, usually consecutively even as I have (I was something like two grand in on Ayaka's) and some even spend quite a few thousand on each banner. But none of us would be here if not for the free to play players, because there's no reason to be if we don't get to do something with the community.
I am just tired of seeing you put anyone who doesn't spend down, because I was like them too once and I know how the free to play business actually works and how valuable people are even if they aren't paying themselves.

Well I'll disagree here, it's cheaper to refill for story events to gain crysts than try for the crysts from King Mog events, particularly if you don't have bonus units.
Therefore, allowing NRG pot hijinx like OP suggests is both a waste of time, money, and effort.
