If you don't want constant new changes to this game, then you're playing the wrong game.

The objective of the game is to get wins. You have fun when you win, you don’t have fun when you die even if you were flying around in a plane most of the game and killed a couple people with your friends. It’s disappointing when an item gives the other person a major advantage just bc they decide to play 20 games to die instantly then got the sword once. Look i think it’s okay to give advantages to people, like turrets have progressed and they’re still overpowered but the game is still playable bc there is a way to actually counter it most of the times. But to force the other 60+ players left (around # of players left when sword is picked up) in the game to hold balloons and waste a item slot just for this one dude is insane. It’s too overpowered and should only be included in an LTM. End of story.
