I replied similar to others, but we talk about philosophical/hypothetical topics so this wasn't unusual. Knowing that if he could go back in time knowing what he knows, knowing I am out there in the world, and he would choose not to meet me again and be with me again is a hard pill to swallow. Makes you doubt yourself and the strength of your relationship. Is he unhappy now? Would he choose an ex and make things work with her instead and I am just a second option? I know this is stupid to think about those scenarios, but the man you want to build a future with and spent the rest of your life with, wouldn't you like to feel secure that right now in this stage of his life he can't imagine being without you, even in a hypothetical world?
