If MMO were, are, and supposed to always be significant time sink games, why are people keep complaining that they need to spend at least 2 hours per day to keep up with the progress?

Instant gratification ruined a good amount of MMOs or maybe just the genre in general. So the devs caved and made cruising to end game easy. But people forget that the real journey is.. getting to end game. Doing content that becomes available to you when you gain 5-10 levels. Upgrading your armor. All the fun stuff was always in between.

The crowd nowadays just want to plow through the game and get to max level. They don’t want shops to have closing times, they want x5 walking speed. No wait times in between missions/quests. Not wanting to team up to complete content. Everything needs to be available right now. World building is an afterthought. I’ve learned to accept that. MMOs just aren’t for me anymore.
