If a person who was 25 received a kidney transplant from a donor who was 75, would that kidney die before the new body since it’s much older or would the 25 year old be able to live an average lifespan without worrying about their new kidney dying on them?

There are multifarious factors checked and rechecked when locating a suitable donor for any organ. If somehow a person did manage to leave that somehow perfectly healthy life, their lungs very well could be young and healthy enough to last an extended period of time. The age in years is not always a good indicator on the actual health or remaining longevity of a particular organ(s) in the body.

Again, the greatest issue comes from the use of drugs that stop the donor recipient's body from attacking the donated organ. Sometimes infections can arise that we would not see in otherwise healthy individuals.

Other side effects can also manifest though despite these, many people feel the opportunity to live longer amongst their family and community far outweighs the risks and side effects of an organ transplant.
