Im so pissed off at the way America is being run

but the question I have is would you rather have experienced the disease that afflicted you 20-50 years earlier?

I wouldn't have gotten those diseases 20-50 years ago.

50 years ago Dr's didn't cram antibiotics and antidepressants down everyone's throats. C-Diff is typically a hospital acquired infection due to overuse of antibiotics. There's even more infections headed our way now because of so many medical advancements?

When I was young and got a sore throat, my Dad would take a teaspoon to hold down my tongue, a flashlight to look down my throat, if it was red and pus filled (didn't want to say pussy), then I stayed home from school until my body worked it out.

We have better access to medicine than ever before. I certainly wouldn't say better. Quantity doesn't equate quality. I think my story says it all.

I don't think working hard, and earning a living is having a rough life, I think having it taken away from me is much rougher.

a quick and accessible ER visit That costs as much as a car.

OP has every right to be anger. Our government waste money on a lot of all the wrong things, and does not hold those who abuse it's citizens accountable, whether that be medical or social needs.

I am also not one who thinks everyone needs to live to be 80 or 90 years old. Because they don't. People are made to feel guilty for getting old and wanting to die. It's fucking ridiculous, and I come from a state with assisted death. Dad died when he was 73- Mom died when she was 72. They both died from lung cancer. My Dad lasted 90 days, but my Mom was lied to, and told she had a 75% chance, so she went the chemo/radiation way. They burned her from the inside out, and killed her with the chemo. I would have much preferred she took her planned trip to Copper Canyon, and then come home & gotten on with the business of dying (which we all do) instead of living her last year being literally tortured by the medical world. When she was done with the treatment, she was sent to a surgeon who said" I don't know why they told you 75%, because there is no way I can operate. They lived long lives, and accomplished many things. I miss them, but many times I am glad they are not here to see what they worked so hard for destroyed.
