Interviewer: Sen. Sanders, back during your 2016 campaign, you ran with a ton of progressive policies that were quite forward-looking at the time, but for the 2020 election, most of the candidates support variations of those policies. My question is: Why are you still running?

Sanders: The better question is: Why are they running?

Pithy and substantive. One of many reasons I love this guy. I’ll equally love to vote for Warren and Buttiejiej, and I’ll gladly vote for anybody with a -D after their name at this point, but I don’t for one moment believe that Sanders has peaked. As I wrote - let’s talk in a month.
