Instagram promoted pages glorifying eating disorders to teen accounts

I don't understand this. Yes? A parent should look after their kid. As a parent "the buck stops here."

But... if you're a parent and you notice a person or company taking advantage of kids, or your kid, you try and do something about it. This anectdote shows my age, but if some asshole hangs out outside a high school to try and sell kids cigarettes, you have a talk with your kids about the cigarettes and then you also do something about that asshole.

Social media isn't some force of nature. It's humans making decisions about the right balance between making money and hurting people is. I'm not going to let my daughter grow up on Instagram, but I also sure as shit want Instagram to stop being so blatantly evil.
