Interactive Brokers’ chairman Peterffy: “I would like to point out that we have come dangerously close to the collapse of the entire system”

if Coca-Cola “went to zero” then there is literally a billion dollar cash cow sitting there for anyone to pick up.

Can anyone explain this one to me? Let's say the market goes completely irrational. Let's keep the numbers simple in this hypothetical:

Panda Coke has 1 Billion in assets and no debt.

1 Share is 0.00001% of Panda Coke.

So in theory you own 1k of their assets. (0.0001% of a Billion).

But the market is trading for 500 a share and it won't go up.

Is there a way you can force claim your 1k???? If not why does a share need to be tied to the value of a company? If someone owns 60% of the shares and refuses to sell no one can take over to sell those assets. So how is your 1 share tied to the value of the company?
