Isn’t encouraging or shaming people who aren’t really politically informed to vote kind of irresponsible or unethical?

I don’t really think so. It’s an unavoidable and consistent fact that there are many people who are generally uninformed and will vote anyways, according to their values. This will never, ever change.

So it makes sense to encourage people who are likely not going to ever be super informed to also vote according to their general values.

Also we tend to be rather partisan in one direction on here, so I’ll be specific and go one step further. There’s a lot of voters who are uninformed politically but are driven almost entirely by a faith-based values system that leads them to vote for conservatives. It’s entirely fair (and good for the country, I’d say) to encourage values based voting that is specifically not faith-based.
