I was that friend in my group. We were all together in December and I was the only one not going with on a trip to Portland. I half jokingly told them to watch out for COVID. Obviously we have no idea if it was actually COVID but the friend they stayed with, another friend in Portland, and everyone who went on the trip got sick as fuck. I picked a few up at the airport and I got whatever they had. I (165lbs) lost 27 lbs in 12 days of being sick. One girl wound up in the hospital with Guillain Berre syndrome which can be caused by almost any sort of viral infection but that we are seeing a lot of associated with COVID. Her dr had only seen 2 people with that in his career in our area and while she was there they had 6 other people who developed it and went to that hospital in just a couple months.
