I've procrastinated off limits!

kinda yeah, the part where he seeks a dopamine fix and can't focus on a task is pretty much ADD/ADHD or depression, most solutions other than medication/drugs take time and discipline it's never gonna be that you go from being lathargic and unmotivated to pure focus mode and productivity, unless you use drugs or meds, that fixes things immediately and working becomes a breeze for me.

I myself am un-diagnosed for my ADD, and it might not be super severe, or maybe I learned to deal with it over time, but in school I used to do everything last minute and doing all-nighters, it's that bad for me when I'm not interested in the topic or the idiosyncrasies of a task are too tedious or boring then it was really hard to get things done. ADHD meds solved all of these issues for me. Speed works in a pinch too, low dosage tho! Have also had decent success with anxiolytics such as Phenibut, also dose dependent since too much of it makes you just too chill and sedated, the right amount works wonders though, it's the best anxiety/depression substance I know of, although very easy to get addicted to it, and doing it more than twice a week is a no-no. Not advocating for drug use, just saying what has worked for me. Never do drugs if you have an addictive personality or can't be disciplined about usage and harm reduction.
