READ THIS BOOK AND STOP USING YOUR PHONE

I'm fine, just tired of people like you and the others here on this post taking the easy way out in discussions about younger generations by claiming "It's the cell phones!!!!!" In the 70's and the 80's, it was TV's taking the blame. In the 90's and early 00's, it was video games. Now it's cell phones and social media that have the spotlight. Social media, however is an entirely different discussion and I'll concede that they're awful.

There are real issues in our cultures and societies that need to be looked at and addressed, but you and your ilk would rather put your fingers in your ears and pretend they're not there so you can derive some weird sense of superiority about some other non-issue that you've "overcome," be it not watching TV, or not using your cell. It's always meaningless, and it's always reductive. So, go off I guess.

FWIW, I am glad that you feel good about parting yourself from your phone. Just don't let it become your "gotcha" whenever someone younger brings up an issue with their experience as a youth.
