Izzy: 'You have to understand the culture of the internet. And [Jon Jones] doesn't. He's young [32] - he's only, like, a year older than me - but he's old. Like, he's like an old man. He's like a suburban dad, which he is actually. So he doesn't get it.'

There's a reason why people in the generations before you plotted out a life the way they did.

Because people like you and their parents browbeat them into it? Because families used to treat marriage as a business transaction and an exchange of resources to better their socioeconomic? Because social status and even leaders of nations used to be routinely determined by birthright and not by competence?

You're basically living life like you're going to be young forever & you aren't, that's the reality of it.

What, so doing what you want to do is for 'young' people and sacrificing all that to take care of obligations other people impose upon you is what you get for 5/8ths of your life as 'old person'? Sounds awesome. Throw away decades so there's people that are socially obligated to take care of you when you're old.

You're supposed to grow together & figure out life together.

'Supposed' by whom? People who want someone else to do their laundry?

I have a long-term relationship myself and I might also have kids very soon - but to enforce that shit on people like it's THE way to go, and as though there aren't very good reasons NOT to have kids is intellectually arrogant.

Not least of which is the fact that this planet is over-populated to the nth degree...
