in order to see if they retain all the James Bond characteristics

I thought Jessica Chastain projected a somewhat Bond-like personality in Miss Sloane, and to a lesser extent Molly's Game. Tough and resourceful, but you could tell she was a little broken underneath, but too afraid to ever let people come closer. Probably not above seducing someone to get ahead, if that was needed. Those weren't exactly action movies, but she definitely projected what I think a female bond would be like.

I'd say the only difficulty with a female Bond might be the physicality, but we've already seen Craig get trounced by a larger adversary, so it's not like recent Bonds have always won on physical strength. And Atomic Blonde had pretty believable fight choreography. I think it could be done. Should is a matter of opinion, but I'd watch it.
