Jim Carrey once said “Solitude is dangerous. It’s very addictive. It becomes a habit after you realize how calm and peaceful it is. It’s like you don’t want to deal with people anymore because they drain your energy.” How do you feel about this quote?

In 2012 I moved to a small house in Rural Canada because the rent was cheaper here, the closest town is 30 minutes away. For the first two years I hated it, even as a more introverted person, being in almost complete solitude was pretty hard to get used to. After eight years of living in the same area, just in a different home that I now own, I can honestly say I think we would have a hard time living anywhere else. My S.O. and I work from home and go into town or city about every 3-4 days, and it can feel somewhat refreshing to see people, but seriously, only for the day. I'd say solitude can take some time to get use to, but yes, if you stay long enough, it becomes a drug.
