Joe Rogan on Toronto

A celebrity calling a city friendly never makes sense to me.

It's not just my anecdote.

I'm gay, I'm on GrindR, I meet a lot of people, immigrants complain about not being able to make friends that easy here, it's actually a pretty common complaint. I've noticed it myself.

Polite, kind, considerate, and nice are not the same as "friendly".

Vancouver is also known for not being that friendly.

It can't be a coincidence that I haven't randomly made a single friend in this city, yet back home I'd make friends just by going to work(not co-workers).

Everyone is going to have their own experience, I've never heard anyone say Torontonians are easy to make friends with, cause they're not.

Add to the fact half the people here are from another country and are doing their own thing and it makes it even harder.

I've put zero effort into making friends here nor do I care to make friends, but I found myself swatting potential friends away all the time when I lived in the suburbs and when I travel.

Anecdotes don't mean anything, but just google it, it's not anecdotal, a lot of people complain about it.

I think there is something about the combination of a lot of people who don't speak the same language together, mixed with high living cost that makes Toronto a strange place to make friends.

Zero strangers have striken up conversations with me since I moved here and I learnt quickly to not even bother trying to talk to others.

This city is far from friendly.

I'm very outgoing, considerate and blah blah blah, and no friends, and it's not me that sucks lol, believe me, this city just isn't that friendly.
