I was going bald my junior year and finally just shaved it to the skin. I'm 43 now and I also have a giant red handlebar mustache to balance everything out (I actually had the stashe long before the hipster beard/hipster mustache thing took off).

Most people who are destined to go bald have a nicely shaped skull and shaved-to-the-skin baldness looks normal or even good. An immediate example is Bruce Willis. But some people, it turns them into walking nightmares. Just look at Doug Walker as an example. He looks like a literal penis, or perhaps a naked mole rat. If anything, he looks like an AI Midjourney art piece in terror. I have the sneaking suspicion James will have the same problem if he goes full skin-shaved. His bottom lip Meep-mouth look definitely wouldn't gel with a freshly shorn skull.
