Just when you think you nailed it, Transition Stress can sneak up on you.

Lord, I don't know how many times I used to tell my soldiers this as a TL/defacto SL, but you're purpose should not center on yourself as a soldier, that is your duty, do not make it your purpose. Now I understand for some that they want that as their purpose, whether for good or bad, but a majority of the time I'd find that soldiers would join for that purpose, build on that as an identity, and forget their old themselves in the process.

Ones purpose should be driven close to their hearts, as such for myself my purpose is to help support and be there for my parents, who are only growing older, hell their one of the two reasons I decided to ETS. One should never allow the duty they must preform for their work to become their purpose, for then it will swallow that of what you want to be. That's all, have a nice day!

p.s. my purpose beforehand was to look cool af, I was a shallow fucker while I served lmao
