Kaapo Kakko scores his first National Team goal against Team Canada.

So I’ve been a hockey fan all my life but never played. No ice rinks within 100 miles of where I lived. But I have a question:

I know this game is inch perfect and the way we watch it is much different then how it actually appears on the ice. But given how off balance he was, wasn’t it perfectly telegraphed that he was going far post? There was no way he could recover to tuck it near post, so did the goalie go the right way and he just buried it in an unguardable spot, or did the goalie fuck up and let him go to the only spot he possibly good? Or am I wrong about everything? Would love to hear from some people who have played as to what this actually looked like from a player/goalie perspective
